Mth Model Trains

mth model trains
Are there any Model Railroaders out there that collect MTH Illinois Central passenger trains?

I collect “O” Gauge MTH Illinois Central Cars and engines. I presently have a set of ABA E6’s and E8’s. and a full consist for each engine set.

I also have a Rail King RS2 and about 20 cars of various road names.

Has anyone had quality issues with their MTH Engines? I have had the E6’s and E8’s in the shop at MTH.

Here's some leads to try – all do fairly extensive Lionel Parts services, hopefully one has what you need:

    Good luck!

Maybe your group could dress up as killer bees and pretend to chase everyone to kill them with like fake guns or knives or something. Hope it works! (:

I’ll admit to that. I think Obama has been a terrible President. I had hope that he would be better than Bush, but frankly I think he’s running the country into the ground even faster than Bush was. Honestly, I wouldn’t spit on either one of them (Bush or Obama) if they were on fire at this point.

    Fourth response:
    Atlas has some nice stuff:

They are the only ones not on your list.

    Second response:
    Check this out:

Its sounding like what your wanting. The sounds have a volume control. Note that this is a announced new product that is to be released in 2010 sometime.
    Question for you:
Are you using 3 rail 'O', or 2 rail? This really makes a huge difference!
I'll wait to hear from you. C'mon back Willy!

    Third response:
    Check this out:

Good price. Nice set. Doesn't say anything about volume control, but a pair of wire cutters says it does!
    And this:

    Nice set.
Let me know if I'm on the right 'track'.

    First response:
    You're right.
I searched the website for MTH, and all the locomotives come with all the digital stuff you are not wanting.
Also Alas website for 'O' scale.
Looks like all the new stuff has the sounds for DC operation, with optional DCC operation upgrade.

Being a traditionalist is a good thing. But for what you are wanting, it looks like a problem.
Seems like the only sources left are train shows, possibly eBay [even though I wouldn't use it], or contacting a train club group in your area.
I noticed in the back of Model Railroader magazine there are 'wanted' and 'for sale' columns that may be of use for you with this.
Surely there are some good old stuff out there someone wants to sell.

I remember you asking in your first question a while back about the Silver & Red Warbonnet in particular. Man, I had no idea these were so hard to find until I tried answering your question, and now your question about loco's "without the …." has really got me reeling. Apparently the old style has gone by the wayside, and all the sounds etc. are what is selling.

You know, manufacturers only produce what they know will sell, and as far as 'O' scale goes, looks like the new stuff all has sounds etc.

This is a bit hard core, but..
I reckon you can pull all the guts out of them and rewire the motor to respond to the power pack directly like the old ones. Just have to make sure the voltage and whether it being an AC or DC power motor.

I had no idea what you were asking was such a hard to find item.

Anything that will run on O27 curves will be fine in them.

Some older Lionel and most newer Lionel can't run on curves that tight.
